About the roleThe Coordinator (First Nations identified) will work within a small multi-disciplinary team to deliver the Children's Ground Family Health and Wellbeing Framework to improve health and wellbeing outcomes for the community. The role will support the head of Health and involve team leadership, health program delivery, on country and in community. The position will assist to uplift the recognition and support of local traditional cultural knowledge system and practices and the agency of community member.About youIdentify as Aboriginal/First NationsHave experience or qualifications in health promotion related fieldHave team leadership experienceModerate to high level administrative skills - data input, project planning, emails, reporting etc.Understanding and/or experience working with First Nations communities - understanding the issues facing First Nations peopleCurrent drivers license is essentialClinical health qualifications would be desirable as would experience in a start-up or NGOAbility to work outdoors is essential (project delivery on community)Self starter who thrives in an environment that is ambiguous, dynamic, variable and complexPassionate about social justiceKey ResponsibilitiesWork with community to develop, assess and monitor population health/health promotion prioritiesManage and implement responses to create improved health and wellbeing outcomesTeam coordination - work in an integrated delivery model and work closely with community development and learning teamsIntegration of health and wellbeing into early childhood curriculum, daily learning and development initiatives for children aged 0-12Contribute to the development and implementation of health promotion initiativesProvide support to local First Nations people to navigate the public/private health systemsWork closely with local community members and eldersProvide support and supervision to staff within the health team - develop work plans and provide guidance and directionCoordinate and assist staff with the development of community, individual and family based health plansEnsure data and information is recorded and professional notes are being recorded to meet quality standardsWork with key health and wellbeing stakeholders - Congress, Flynn Drive, Alice Springs Hospital
