Sunny Days Rescue & Rehab runs a long term housing and rehab centre for stray‑born cats in Avalon, Vic. We've been established for 8 years and are a registered charity with DGR status. We are a small group of hard working volunteers who are dedicated to the physical and psychological development of the cats in our care, and the individual needs and journey of each.
Role Overview
We need a veterinarian who can visit our shelter occasionally when, for example, one of our cats needs to be examined for a skin issue, small wound, cat flu‑related eye concern, urinary or GI issue, or snap test. While diagnostic tests such as labs or scans require the cat to be taken to a clinic, we would love to lessen the stress for our cats of visiting vet clinics where possible.
Responsibilities
• Assess and treat cats with various health issues at the shelter
• Perform routine examinations and provide immediate care
• Develop and recommend diagnostic plans when necessary
• Work with our volunteers to ensure safe handling and transport of cats during vet visits
Ways to Contribute (Non‑Clinical)
* Foster or adopt one of our very deserving cats
* Volunteer at our shelter or in our team
* Sponsor a cat's housing and care monthly
* Donate to keep our shelter running or to a particular animal
* Order supplies to be delivered to our shelter (food, litter, cat treats, parasite treatments, bleach, paper towel, disposable gloves, etc.)
