We're currently partnering with a large, complex enterprise environment to engage an experienced Oracle Database Administrator with strong Unix/Linux expertise. This role supports mission-critical platforms and offers the opportunity to work within a highly technical, operationally mature environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Administer, support and optimise Oracle databases in enterprise environments
* Perform database installation, configuration, patching, upgrades and performance tuning
* Support high availability and disaster recovery solutions (e.g. RAC, Data Guard)
* Manage and support Unix/Linux operating systems underpinning database platforms
* Monitor system health, troubleshoot incidents and perform root cause analysis
* Automate routine tasks and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
* Work closely with infrastructure, application and security teams to ensure platform stability
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience as an Oracle DBA in large-scale or enterprise environments
* Strong hands-on experience with Linux/Unix systems
* Solid knowledge of Oracle architecture, backup/recovery and performance tuning
* Experience supporting 24/7 or business-critical systems
* Exposure to scripting (Shell, Bash or similar)
* Ability to work independently while collaborating within technical teams
Desirable
* Experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard or Exadata
* Exposure to cloud-hosted Oracle platforms
* ITIL or enterprise operational experience
