Job Description Are you a nurse wanting to further your knowledge and experience in Emergency and Critical Care? Or are you ready to make the move from GP to ECC? Do you want to learn about nursing patients with central lines, on high-flow oxygen, on ventilators, with feeding tubes, all supported with digital systems and Smartflow? AEC (Animal Emergency Centre) is a leading provider of veterinary emergency and critical care services across Australia. Our Moorabbin, Mount Waverley, and Frankston locations are dedicated to providing exceptional emergency veterinary care to pets when they need it most. Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications. Opportunities for additional earnings through penalty rates - depending on shifts and mutual roster agreements, total annual earnings could surpass $80,000 p.a. with penalties. The perfect plan to set you up for success with initial orientation shifts followed by shadow shifts and then induction modules. Dedicated ECC nurse trainer as well as focussed mentoring from your direct manager. We will create a tailored training plan for you! Attendance at our annual Symposium including flights and accommodation, with 2 days of clinical lectures, and loads of fun! Access to continuing education and training programs including the opportunity for funding for ECC diploma. RECOVER training for BLS and ALS rescuer certification. Flexible rostering to achieve work-life balance, and no on-call shifts. Shift length varies from 9 hours to 12 hours including mornings, afternoons, nights, weekends, and Public Holidays. A well-stocked pantry to provide snacks whilst you work, fun-scrub Friday, positive team culture and lots of experienced vets and nurses to learn from, plus support from animal attendants during busy times so you can focus on using your nursing skills with patients. Requirements: Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent qualification Applicants currently studying their Certificate IV will be considered Proficiency in IV catheter placement, blood sampling, and anaesthesia monitoring advantageous Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations A genuine passion for providing exceptional care to animals and their owners Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as part of a rotating roster If you are a dedicated and compassionate veterinary nurse looking to advance your career in emergency and critical care, we want to hear from you!
