The Snowy Hydro 2.0 project is a key delivery partner on an iconic renewable energy and infrastructure project based in Cooma. As a global leader in heavy mechanical engineering, contracting and services, they support some of the world's most significant energy and infrastructure projects. Location & Roster:
* Based in Cooma, NSW on the Snowy 2.0 project
* FIFO - 1 week Cooma office (Mon–Fri) / 1 week work from home roster
The Role:
We seek an experienced Contract Manager to provide hands-on support to the subcontract administration team on the Snowy Hydro 2.0 project. In this role, you will manage key subcontract packages for the electrical and mechanical scope, ensuring strict compliance with contract requirements and driving commercial outcomes.
This is a hands-on position suited to a commercially astute professional who thrives in a collaborative project environment, working closely with procurement, commercial, logistics and site delivery teams. The role reports to the Subcontract Manager and plays a pivotal part in optimising project performance and mitigating risk on one of the most complex mega-projects in Australia.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage major subcontract agreements including correspondence, variations, claims, payments and close-out
* Ensure compliance with head contract requirements, protecting the financial and commercial interests of the project
* Prepare and manage subcontract tender packages, evaluate offers, negotiate with suppliers, and make recommendations for award
* Draft, review and finalise subcontractor agreements in line with project policies and procedures
* Advise on contractual interpretation and dispute resolution, including leading negotiations where required
* Maintain accurate registers of variations, delays, claims, extensions of time and payments for reporting
* Promote strong working relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure effective delivery
* Support integrated reporting requirements, including progress, performance and cost analysis
About You:
10+ years' experience in Contract Administration/Contract Management on large-scale infrastructure projects
Degree qualified in Finance, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Law or a related field
Extensive background in subcontract management, tendering, claims and dispute resolution
Proven ability to lead negotiations and achieve commercial outcomes
Strong financial management skills with a record of reducing costs and meeting budgets
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and leadership abilities
Proficiency in SAP highly desirable
