Overview

Guildford Grammar School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated School Psychologist to join our Senior School team on a part-time (0.4 FTE 15 hours per week), fixed term basis during term time only. In this role, you will work closely with students, staff, families, and allied services, sharing your expertise to enhance the wellbeing and capacity of our school community. Your ability to build genuine rapport with students, caregivers, and colleagues will be essential, as will your empathy, compassion, and commitment to supporting young people. This role offers flexible working days for the preferred candidate.

You will support the wellbeing, resilience, and holistic development of students in a caring, inclusive, and faith-based environment. Responsibilities include individual counselling, guidance, and early intervention for a range of emotional, social, and behavioural needs, as well as contributing to whole-school wellbeing programs.

You will uphold the highest standards of professional practice, child safety, and duty of care, placing student wellbeing at the forefront of all decisions. Key Responsibilities

* Empower students and staff with information about the role of the Psychologist and, as appropriate, communicate the process for referral
* Provide counselling for students who are referred for mental health challenges and consult with / refer to external professionals as appropriate
* Provide support and information to students to assist with mental health challenges
* Assist teachers to identify, understand and manage students with emotional and behavioural matters
* Liaise with parents regarding referral and ongoing management of their child
* Work to ensure ongoing collaboration between all key stakeholders in the management of students (i.e. parents, school staff, external agencies)
* Educate students about the issues relevant to mental health and adolescence and promote understanding of self-awareness

About You

* A tertiary qualification in Psychology at a level recognised by AHPRA.
* Ability to hold and maintain a current AHPRA registration as a Psychologist.
* Experience working with children and/or adolescents, ideally within a school or youth-focused setting.
* Additional training or experience in evidence-based therapeutic approaches relevant to young people.
* Hold current Working with Children Check.
* Hold a current police clearance dated within the last 6 months.
* Proof of Right to Work in Australia.
