Duties as Design Technology Teacher:
- Plan and deliver stimulating lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Develop pupils’ creative, practical, and analytical skills through project-based learning
- Teach safe and effective use of tools, machinery and design software (e.g. CAD/CAM)
- Track pupil progress and provide timely, constructive feedback
- Foster a culture of innovation, resilience, and problem-solving
- Manage and maintain a well-organised, safe workshop environment
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to enrich the broader STEM curriculum
- Contribute to extracurricular clubs, competitions, and showcase events
Ideal Design Technology Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- A relevant degree or equivalent in Design Technology or a related subject
- Strong subject knowledge in one or more DT specialisms
- Enthusiasm for hands-on, practical teaching and learning
- Good classroom management and communication skills as a Design Technology Teacher.
- A reflective, forward-thinking approach and willingness to innovate
- Experience with health and safety procedures in a workshop setting
