About the role
Latrobe Community Health Service is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Dental Assistant to join our Oral Health team. This role supports a range of metro and outreach dental services, working within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient‑centred oral health care.
You will provide chairside assistance and clinical support across community, child, private, specialist and outreach dental programs, contributing to safe, efficient and high-quality service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide chairside dental assisting across a range of clinical services and outreach programs
* Prepare and maintain dental operatories before and after procedures
* Assist with digital radiography, record keeping and clinical documentation
* Participate in instrument reprocessing and infection control activities
* Support clinicians to meet productivity, quality and safety standards
* Assist with stock management, equipment troubleshooting and general clinic operations
* Contribute to trainee dental assistant supervision and team development activities
You will bring
* Certificate III in Dental Assisting (mandatory)
* Sound knowledge of dental assisting practices and infection control
* Strong time management and organisational skills
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* A patient‑centred, empathetic approach
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
