JOB SUMMARY:
The Trainer – HIS Systems will work closely with the Training Leads, Learning Consultants and other department members, as well as clinical and non-clinical staff, and external partners to ensure that staff have a thorough understanding and gain competencies in the application of the new Hospital Information System (HIS). The Trainer will ensure comprehensive understanding of hospital information systems, and will collaborate with the Training Leads to ensure that the training curriculum accurately reflects the clinical workflows of WRH programs. The Trainer will deliver training both virtually and in-person, to Hospital staff, at the discretion of the Hospital.
QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION:
* College diploma in a clinical discipline, health informatics, education /adult education, organizational development or equivalent program, and/or relevant work experience.
* Experience working with the functionality, and conducting training associated with the HIS – Cerner Millennium system
* Demonstrated experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment
* Ability to deliver clinical, adult education using remote technologies, preferred
* Previous project and systems implementation experience, preferred
* Familiarity in working in an acute care health-care environment with an understanding of clinical workflows and terminology, preferred
* Clinical background, preferred.
* Ability to conduct effective training sessions, using various modalities, to adult learners
* Ability to build rapport, engage adult learners, and create a positive learning experience
* Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills – both written and verbal
* Understanding of adult learning principles/theories/strategies, to develop and facilitate learning
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.), and Visio experience is an asset
* Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize effectively deliver to deadlines
* Available to work flexible hours, across different sites
* Evidence of high standards of professionalism and skills in all aspects of communication
* French language skills an asset
