As a Software Test Engineer at Torque Software, you'll be the guardian of quality behind a platform trusted by over 100,000 users. Working closely with Developers, Product Managers, and stakeholders, you'll ensure every release is robust, secure, accessible, and ready to perform in the real world. You won't just test features – you'll shape quality from the outset, identifying risks early and helping build better solutions.
Your impact will span the full product lifecycle, including:
* Smart, structured testing: Design and execute comprehensive manual test strategies – functional, regression, exploratory, and release – ensuring every feature meets high performance and reliability standards,
* Early risk identification: Review requirements and designs to spot gaps, edge cases, and potential issues before they reach production,
* Accessibility leadership: Champion inclusive design through accessibility testing aligned to WCAG 2.1+, validating support for assistive technologies and user-focused experiences,
* Clear documentation & collaboration: Produce concise test documentation and defect reports, working closely with developers to resolve issues efficiently,
* Governance & quality standards: Support security, regulatory, and audit requirements, assist with customer-facing technical investigations, and continuously refine testing tools and processes.
Through disciplined testing, proactive collaboration, and a passion for continuous improvement, you'll play a key role in delivering a high-performing SaaS platform that customers trust every day — and help raise the bar for quality across the business.
You're an experienced Software Test or QA professional who combines technical expertise with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset. You bring strong hands-on experience and understand how to deliver quality in fast-paced SaaS environments – particularly where reliability, security, and compliance matter most.
Your background includes:
* Proven software testing experience: Designing and executing comprehensive manual test plans and detailed test cases across functional, regression, exploratory, and release cycles,
* Strong QA foundations: Solid knowledge of testing methodologies, defect management processes, and QA best practices,
* Accessibility expertise: Hands-on experience with accessibility testing aligned to WCAG 2.1+, including familiarity with relevant tools and assistive technology validation,
* SaaS and regulated environments: Experience in SaaS platforms, ideally within Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) or other regulated industries,
* Agile delivery: Comfortable working in agile/iterative development teams, using defect tracking and test management tools effectively,
* Documentation & communication: Contributing to clear technical and user documentation, and confidently communicating test outcomes and risks.

The successful candidate will bring a strong commitment to quality, accessibility, and usability, applying structured and pragmatic testing methodologies to deliver reliable, inclusive, and high-performing software. You are hands‐on and technically capable – confident executing detailed test activities, identifying risks (including performance and scalability), and recommending practical, value-driven solutions.
You thrive in collaborative, cross‐functional environments, building trusted relationships with developers, product teams, and stakeholders. You communicate test outcomes, risks, and recommendations clearly and confidently to both technical and non‐technical audiences, while effectively managing multiple priorities in a fast‐paced SaaS setting. Proactive and self‐directed, you take ownership of your work and continuously seek opportunities to improve processes, tools, and quality standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (required),
* 3+ years' experience in software testing, QA, or a related discipline,
* Experience in SaaS, web‐based platforms, or regulated industries (e.g., GRC, government, finance) highly regarded,
* Familiarity with agile delivery, defect tracking, and test management tools,
* Knowledge of ASP.NET, SQL Server, or cloud platforms is advantageous,
* NV1 Australian Security Clearance (minimum) required.
