Lead Addiction Psychologist Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to take on a leading role within our Addiction Psychology Service.

About the Role:

* This position involves providing a clinically effective high quality and autonomous lead role in the management of referrals, including liaison with consultant psychiatrists, addiction psychologists, and other professionals involved in the delivery of treatment and care to patients in Alcohol and Drug Services.
* The post-holder will be required to have a high level of expertise in relation to addiction and mental health, and be able to provide highly specialist support within APS and the wider psychological and professional community.
* The post-holder will be responsible for leading on service development and service evaluation projects, representing the Addiction Psychology Service in meetings at various levels, and liaising with staff from different professional backgrounds.
* The post-holder will also deputise for the Head of Service as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities:

* Support the implementation of MAT standards across NHS Lanarkshire.
* Take a lead role in relation to workforce development of wider addiction services to embed value-based and trauma-informed practice.
* Have a role in governance of implementing tier 2/3 psychological interventions.
* Deliver and further develop a psychosocial training programme to staff within addiction services and provide ongoing coaching and consultation.

Requirements:

* A key component of this post is the provision of clinical supervision to psychologists and other professionals. All practitioners of psychological therapies must receive regular clinical supervision to ensure ethical and professional practice.
* Possession of specialised theoretical and practical knowledge within the Addiction field.
* Theoretical and practical knowledge of a wide range of psychological disorders and their treatment, along with extensive knowledge of the theory and practice of specialised psychological therapies in the field of Addictions.
* Maintenance of Continuing Professional Development in accordance with British Psychological Society guidelines through regular attendance at conferences, specialist training days and specialist treatment modules.

* Please note that this is a part-time post, with a salary paid pro-rata.
* The working pattern for this role is Monday to Friday, 9:00-5:00 pro rata.
