Telecommunications Technician
Job Description:
As a Telecommunications Technician, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining copper and fibre optic cabling for voice and data systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. You will also install, configure, and repair telecommunications equipment including IP telephones, PABX systems, switches, routers, and data transmission devices.
The Role Involves:
* Setting up and configuring IP-based telephone systems, CCTV surveillance equipment, audiovisual (AV) systems, and public address (PA) systems.
* Performing comprehensive testing of installed systems using industry-standard tools, providing detailed reports and certifications as required.
* Diagnosing and resolving faults in telecommunications systems, including legacy and modern setups, to minimize downtime and maintain service quality.
Requirements:
You will need to hold a Certificate III in Telecommunications Technology or an equivalent recognized telecommunications qualification. Additionally, you must have a minimum of four years of experience as a Telecommunications Technician within the telecommunications and/or security industry.
