For more than 75 years, we have been delivering high quality family and relationship support services, and we now support more than 20,000 clients every year.

We have over 400 dedicated employees working from 21 centres across metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria.

About headspace:
headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation providing early intervention mental health services to 12-25 year olds, along with assistance in promoting young peoples’ wellbeing.

This covers core areas including mental health, physical health, work and study support and alcohol and other drug services.

Relationships Australia Victoria (RAV) is the lead agency for headspace Wonthaggi which is governed by a consortium of local community organisations who provide expertise, support and advice to RAV.

About the role
We are seeking a Volunteer Independent Chairperson to assist us with leading the headspace Wonthaggi Consortium.

This role involves facilitating quarterly meetings with 11 partner organisations.

Working closely with the Centre Manager, supporting the Youth Co-Chair to ensure effective collaboration and decision-making you will assist to provide leadership, foster strong partnerships and help drive strategic outcomes that support the mission of headspace Wonthaggi—improving the mental health and social wellbeing of young people aged 12 to 25.

This is an exciting opportunity for a volunteer to contribute to a nationally recognised initiative, supporting early intervention services across mental health, physical health, alcohol and other drugs, and work and study pathways.

Experience

- Demonstrated leadership experience (preferable)
- Experience as a Chairperson in a range of different roles (preferable)
- Preparedness to provide effective mentorship to Co-Chair (Youth representative).
- Communication skills including media liaison experience (preferable)
- Knowledge of community-based organisations.
