We are currently seeking a trade qualified Chef to supervise the daily operation (Monday - Friday) of our Deli Marche cafe located within our hospital site at Waratah, Newcastle. This position requires a motivated, creative individual with a flair for cooking, however also focused on the customer's experience and the front of house operation and presentation. Key responsibilities of this position include:
* Cook and present dishes / food items on a daily basis
* Identify food and beverage trends to satisfy the current captive market
* Ensure presentation of food and beverage items is at a high level at all times
* Supervise the daily operation of the cafe
* Ensure the HACCP Food Safety Plan is adhered to at all times
* Ordering and control of stock
* Monitoring customer service flow and providing front of house support when required
* Supervising cooking and presentation of function catering
* Working within Workplace Health Safety guidelines and legislation
Our ideal applicant will demonstrate the following:
* Experience in a busy cafe environment
* Menu creation and costings experience
* Strong focus on food creation and cafe presentation
* Experience supervising a team and demonstrating positive leadership skills
* Excellent customer service focus and delivery
