Are you passionate about supporting young people? The Department of Education in the North Queensland Region is looking for a Senior Psychologist to join our school-based wellbeing teams. If you are interested in becoming a part of this exciting new early-intervention service and making an incredible difference in the lives of young people in an educational setting, then this is the role for you. This role will include travel across the North Queensland region, including Charters Towers, Ingham and Burdekin, with opportunity for further travel within the region. This is a temporary full-time position for a period of 12 months, unless otherwise determined.

About The Role
The focus of the role is to provide support for students with mild to moderate mental health concerns. The Wellbeing professionals employed through the Student Wellbeing Package work as part of schools' established student support teams to enhance wellbeing and mental health support available to students.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
* Provide therapeutic counselling and support through individual or group sessions to address mild to moderate mental health concerns.
* Facilitate referrals to other allied health professionals and services and assist students and families to access this support.
* Support school communities in responding to critical incidents and emergencies as a part of the school response team.
* Develop and/or maintain appropriate data collection and confidential records keeping and reporting systems for individual students referred for Psychology services in line with department procedures and policies
* Participate as a member of a multi-disciplinary team within a educational setting, providing support to school, community and inter agency/networks relevant to the position.
