About the Business
This busines is a specialist engineering and design firm delivering high-quality, practical solutions across industrial, manufacturing, and infrastructure projects. Their work spans new builds, facility upgrades, and industrial plant projects, supporting everything from initial concepts to fabrication-ready designs.
They pride ourselves on bridging the gap between design and construction, using advanced CAD and BIM tools to produce models and drawings that are accurate, practical, and ready for the real world. You'll be part of a team that collaborates closely with engineers, fabricators, and site teams to deliver solutions that work in the office and on the plant floor.
What You'll Do
In this role, you'll be responsible for developing and reviewing mechanical or structural, and process design documentation, producing accurate CAD and BIM models to support fabrication and construction. You will prepare detailed drawings, including layouts, sections, and isometrics, and conduct technical checks, feasibility reviews, and design optimisation. The role also involves visiting client sites to inspect facilities, take measurements, and verify as-built conditions, while providing on-site support to ensure designs are practical and implementable. You'll work closely with engineers, fabricators, and project teams to integrate solutions, making sure all work meets industry standards, codes, and safety requirements.
What We're Looking For
5–10 years' experience in mechanical, structural, or industrial design/drafting
Strong proficiency in CAD/BIM software (AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Autodesk Advance Steel, Inventor, Navisworks or similar)
Engineering degree or trade qualification with relevant industry experience
Solid understanding of engineering principles, materials, and industrial processes
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and P&IDs
Comfortable working both in the office and on-site in industrial environments
Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
Why Join Us
This role offers the chance to work on varied projects across multiple industries, combining office-based design work with hands-on site involvement so you can see your designs come to life in real-world applications. You'll join a supportive, experienced team that values practical solutions and innovation, and have the opportunity to develop your skills while contributing to projects that make a tangible impact.
