Key Responsibilities
A Specialist Private Investigator conducts investigations in both complex and normal environments for Government and Private Agencies. They must perform under difficult and high-pressure situations, requiring flexibility to serve court documents when necessary.
Matters are often secret or sensitive, with a strong emphasis on ethical and moral standards. The investigator works autonomously while adhering to these standards, without discussing or divulging investigations to third parties.
Typical Duties:
* Conduct surveillance and maintain records
* Investigate criminal and complex matters, workplace bullying, and harassment
* Locate witnesses and missing persons
* Take videos or photographs for use as evidence
* Work undercover in organizations to gather information
* Gather information for legal proceedings
* Conduct asset and liability checks
* Investigate property theft and provide security advice
* Prepare investigation reports and take witness statements
Requirements:
* A sound character with no convictions that would prevent obtaining a private investigators license
* Good communication and observation skills
* Ability to accept responsibility and maintain confidentiality
* High moral and ethical standards
Qualifications and Equipment:
* Open driver's license (manual and automatic)
* Computer literacy and typing speed of 35 wpm+
* Reliable vehicle
* Desired qualifications: NSW CAPI License, Certificate III in Investigative Services, Certificate IV in Government Investigations
