The Opportunity
The Electrical Engineer will play a vital role in supporting statutory electrical testing across our MinRes and client site operations by providing technical expertise in all aspects of electrical systems, with a strong focus on power system protection, high voltage testing, and operational safety.
Acting as the key interface between engineering and site-based teams, this role will ensure that all electrical activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with site objectives and industry standards.
The role will be regular 8/6 roster and roaming across all site operations.
Key responsibilities may include:
 * Perform testing activities on a wide range of electrical equipment, including but not limited to cables, circuit breaker, transformer, protection relay, etc.
 * Evaluate and conduct Earth testing on Fixed Plant Installations via different methods such as Fall of potential, Step and Touch potential, Soil Resistivity, etc …
 * Thermographic inspections of electrical equipment
 * Read, interpret, and make recommendations on electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, including design mark-ups and modifications
 * Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation for all electrical testing, maintenance, and modifications
 * Collaborate with site operations teams to identify, analyse and resolve electrical issues ensuring reliable performance, integrity and compliance of electrical systems
 * Liaise with internal stakeholders, vendors, and contractors to coordinate work, ensuring adherence to site safety procedures and industry regulations
What is required?
 * Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
 * Proven track record in testing a variety of electrical equipment including but not limited to cable, circuit breaker, transformer, protection relay and busbar testing across generation, transmission, & distribution systems.
 * Familiarity with engineering practise, industry standards, regulations, and compliance in high-voltage engineering (up to 33 kV).
 * Proficiency in using specialist test equipment for electrical diagnostics and testing
 * Experience interpreting and make recommendations on electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
 * Strong fault-finding skills with the ability to diagnose issues, provide recommendations, and perform repairs.
 * Expertise in computer-based testing software and tools.
 * Current Electrical Licence (preferred but not essential).
 * Current WA Driver's Licence.
