About the role
We are seeking a motivated, experienced medical secretary to join our busy private practice located in Birtinya, Sunshine Coast. This part-time position offers the opportunity to work closely with a highly respected Neurologist, providing administrative and clinical support to ensure efficient and compassionate patient care.
What you'll be doing
* Manage the Neurologist's calendar and schedule appointments for new and returning patients
* Prepare and maintain detailed patient medical records and history
* Facilitate the referral and registration process for new patients
* Liaise with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to coordinate care
* Assist with the day-to-day operations of the medical practice
* Support the Neurologist in any other administrative or clinical tasks as required
What we're looking for
* Experience as a medical secretary or administrator, preferably within a healthcare setting
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, clinicians, and other stakeholders
* Strong organisational and multitasking abilities to manage a busy schedule and competing priorities
* Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and attention to detail
* A compassionate, patient-centric approach to healthcare administration
* Minimum 6-12 months of experience as a medical secretary or administrator
* Proficiency in Genie electronic medical record system
* Australian work rights are required for this position
