Cloud Security & Resilience Engineer Security | DR | Resilience | AWS & Azure – Contract
We’re seeking experienced Cloud Security and Resilience professionals to support a large‑scale government cloud environment across AWS and Azure.
This role spans cloud security operations, policy‑as‑code, disaster recovery and resilience engineering, supporting secure, compliant and highly available platforms in a regulated environment.

Cloud Security Engineer Responsibilities
Operate and uplift cloud security posture across AWS and Azure
Manage CSPM and CWPP tooling, dashboards and remediation activities
Assess environments against Australian Government frameworks (ISM, PSPF)
Develop and enforce policy‑as‑code using Azure Policy, AWS Config and Terraform
Embed security controls into CI/CD and platform workflows
Support audits, assurance activities and continuous security uplift
Key experience – Cloud Security Engineer
Strong hands‑on experience with AWS & Azure security services
CSPM / CWPP platforms and cloud‑native security tooling
Policy‑as‑code and IaC security controls
Translating security findings into actionable remediation
Cloud Resilience & Disaster Recovery Engineer Responsibilities
Design and implement multi‑region HA/DR architectures
Build and automate disaster recovery runbooks and recovery testing
Implement backup, restore and immutable data protection strategies
Develop DR patterns, recovery automation and monitoring
Support resilience uplift initiatives across cloud platforms
Work within strict change control and governance frameworks
Key experience – Cloud Resilience & DR
Cloud resilience and DR engineering in AWS and/or Azure
Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM/Bicep)
Automated DR testing and backup strategies
What we're looking for (overall)
5‑10+ years' experience in cloud security, resilience or DR roles
Strong hands‑on experience with AWS and/or Azure
Infrastructure as Code and automation experience
Understanding of ITIL processes (incident, change, problem)
Comfortable working in government or highly regulated environments
