Our Government client in Orange NSW, is seeking Assistant Program Officers to provide essential clerical and administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of their programs and services.
About the Role
Assistant Program Officers provide high quality and responsive customer service in application assessment and post approval processing services to support the delivery of financial assistance programs.
Key Responsibilities
* Assess complex applications and claims against eligibility criteria, policies, and responsible lending standards, and provide timely recommendations to support decision-making.
* Identify, investigate, and manage suspected fraudulent applications or claims, escalating cases and providing relevant details to the Manager.
* Prepare and draft correspondence, funding deeds, securities assessments, and related documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
* Apply responsible lending standards when assessing and recommending loan terms and conditions, and liaise with financial institutions to obtain required approvals.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date data in the agencies systems to support reporting and program integrity.
* Provide clear, timely, and accurate information to applicants and clients regarding application status, conditions, and variations, and manage enquiries or complaints professionally.
About You - Skills & Experience
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to draft professional correspondence and reports.
* Proven experience delivering excellent customer service in a client-focused environment.
* Demonstrated ability to assess complex applications and interpret policy or eligibility criteria.
* Sound understanding of financial processes, loans administration, and responsible lending standards.
* High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
* Excellent organisational and time management abilities to meet tight timeframes.
* Experience in managing sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality.
* Previous experience in government, finance, or program administration (highly regarded).
