About the Role:
This is a strategic leadership position encompassing financial management, information technology, and commercial risk management. The role is pivotal in shaping the organisation's five-year strategy and ensuring robust governance across all support services.
You will lead a team of circa 17 staff across the Finance, IT, Purchasing and Communications functions in as broad role that encompasses:
* Strategic Planning, leading five-year organisational strategy development for Board approval.
* Financial Leadership, directing annual budgeting and forecasting, costing, financial planning, management and board reporting.
* Treasury management.
* Financial Reporting, including statutory account preparation, external audit management, ATO compliance and returns.
* Risk & Compliance Management, across insurance, compliance (ATO, State Revenue Office, WorkCover), bank covenant reporting, and commercial risk assessment.
* Business Partnership, collaborating with Operations and Supply Chain to drive enhanced decision-making.
* Team Development, building high-performing management teams across your portfolio.
Of critical importance is your willingness to develop a deep, practical understanding of the business, which will involve rolling your sleeves up and spending time "on farm" and in other operations, building both your knowledge and key internal relationships.
About You:
You can point to deep experience in agricultural, manufacturing or relatable supply chain environments.
You are Degree-qualified in Finance, Legal, or Business studies from a recognised Australian or equivalent international institution, and hold CA, CPA or CMA qualifications.
While an MBA will be highly regarded, post-Graduate qualifications in Procurement, Supply Chain Management or Quality Assurance would be equally desirable.
You bring to the table:
* Extensive business services and commercial risk experience, including contract negotiation.
* A track record of successfully managing complex, multidisciplinary teams through major change initiatives.
* Experience in providing strategic analysis and commercial advisory to diverse stakeholders, including Boards.
* A background in the Australian regulatory and compliance environment.
* ERP systems implementation and management expertise, with advanced Excel capabilities.
* A history of delivering results-oriented, customer-focused solutions.
* Deep experience across people, technology, and business process transformation.
* Ideally, practical experience in family/privately held businesses in which you have engaged closely with the shareholders.
