This is a hands-on, varied role supporting skilled mechanical tradespersons in the maintenance of fixed plant, with a strong focus on delivering high‑quality workmanship. You'll play a key role in applying protective coatings to tanks, structures, valves, pipework and related equipment, helping to prevent wear and corrosion and extend asset life.
Beyond technical contribution, you'll take pride in maintaining a safe, clean and efficient workshop environment—working to world‑class standards of housekeeping, safety and continuous improvement. This role suits someone who values quality, teamwork and taking ownership of their work.

Key Responsibilities:
* Demonstrate a strong commitment to zero‑harm behaviours, safe work practices, and compliance with company values, policies, and procedures.
* Assist with pump assembly, inspection, mechanical preparation, and provide support to tradespersons on customer sites and in the workshop.
* Carry out abrasive blasting, high‑pressure water cleaning, painting, spray and brush/roller‑applied coatings, and rubber lining applications.
* Safely operate tools, presses, and machinery, and ensure tools, materials, and equipment are cleaned, maintained, stored, and transported correctly.
* Inspect completed work including testing rubber linings for faults, identify quality issues, and recommend or initiate corrective actions.
* Maintain a clean and efficient work environment and provide feedback to management on safety, quality, or application issues.
Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
* Previous experience in a similar role, ideally involving industrial painting, abrasive blasting, surface preparation, or protective coatings.
* High school education or equivalent, with the ability to read and understand safety rules, work instructions, and procedure manuals.
* Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards, including hazard identification and adherence to procedures.
* Sound practical skills, including basic mathematics, problem‑solving, and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
* Comfortable using basic computer applications for documentation and reporting.
* Physically fit for manual work, including standing and walking for extended periods, repetitive movements, and lifting up to 20 kg, with the ability to work effectively in a team and demonstrate reliability and professionalism.
