This role calls for a seasoned sales professional with the energy and commercial awareness to recognise and drive opportunities that will take maximum advantage of our product and service solutions.
The Business Development Manager is accountable for meeting sales revenue targets and building strong customer engagement in new and existing markets in Australia. The focus will be on identifying opportunities for new business, qualifying and securing these opportunities and collaborating with internal resources to gain new business.
Reporting to the Sales & Marketing Director, your key responsibilities will include:
* Manage a range of existing and new accounts throughout VIC/SA.
* Develop and work opportunities from inception to closure
* Source leads and chase new business
* Drive sales to meet and exceed agreed targets
* Build rapport with and managing existing clients – including seeking new business from them, gather feedback and monitor customer satisfaction
* Drive a range of products and software sales for existing tier 2 & 3 customers
* Provide efficient responses to RFI and tender submissions as a team
* Build relationships with authorities, and the broader water utilities to provide input to the product road map and to optimise the benefits for us.
* Provide greater exposure and awareness of our product offerings to increase market share.
* Represent us in relevant forums, conventions, seminars, etc and advocate on behalf of our interests.
* Provide sales and account management activity and reporting using CRM systems.
About You
This role requires someone with a high level of interpersonal, communication and critical thinking attributes necessary to establish rapport and credibility internally as well as in customer organisations, up to CEO level.
You will have a strong interest in sustainability and the environment and enjoy working as part of a dedicated team.
Ideally, you will have the following knowledge and experience:
* Dealing with local government, utilities sector
* Utility water sales (well regarded)
* Working in a proactive sales team
* IoT / SCADA / Wireless Networks
* Instrumentation and sensors
Your Background
Over 8 years' experience in similar Sales roles within a medium size business (software, hardware, services or a combination)
Strong B2B sales experience in securing multi-million dollar deals, transitioning from smaller enterprises to large organizations, including local governments, utilities, telecom companies, and multinational corporations
Strong business and commercial acumen coupled with business development and sales experience
Large, long sales gestation project experience
Comfortable in presenting a complex technical proposition, with experience and ability to communicate to customers to promote and drive new technology and business, and to
