The Heavy Duty Mechanic is responsible for performing scheduled servicing, long‐term maintenance, and unscheduled repairs on fleet, including prime movers, tankers, light vehicles, and plant equipment. The role ensures all assets are maintained in a safe, reliable, and work‐ready condition.
What You Will Enjoy Doing
* Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on company and customer equipment
* Complete all service and breakdown documentation accurately and submit to supervisors
* Respond promptly to breakdowns and mechanical failures
* Participate in risk assessments and report incidents, near misses, and hazards
* Support apprentices and collaborate with the workshop team
* Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas
What Makes You Great
* Relevant trade qualification – Heavy Duty Mechanic essential
* Car license essential and HR license desirable
* MC license desirable
* Dangerous Goods license, Forklift High Risk license, and Working at Heights desirable
* Confined Space Training / Competency desirable
* Current knowledge of industry sector and working practices of heavy‐duty plant/vehicle maintenance and repair
