Complete Staff Solutions are seeking a, physically fit CONCRETERto join our busy local government client to work on curbs, gutters and footpaths across the Fairfield area
You will carry out various labouring duties such as asphalting, drainage and concreting works in order to maintain the civil infrastructure throughout the Fairfield Area.
* Days/Hours of Work: 76 hours / 9 day fortnight with 1 rostered day off (RDO).
* Tuesday to Friday 8.5hrs. Monday 8hrs/RDO.
* Start to finish times – 6:45AM to 3:45PM on Tuesdays to Fridays and 6:45AM to 3:15PM on non-RDO Mondays.
Mandatory Requirements:
* Demonstrated skills and experience in a range of civil maintenance duties (e.g. concreting, paving, asphalting etc.)
* Read construction drawings and transcribe the details into the finish work to ensure that specifications for concrete projects are implemented
* Set up and prepare for finishing concrete work including the setting to levels and placement of formwork, mixing of cement and sand, and cutting and placing of jointing materials to ensure the quality of the finish and that required specifications are achieved
* Placing and compaction of base materials to provide the base required for concrete finishing work
* Cutting, tiering and placement of reinforcing steel to ensure that finishing work is completed within 'level' tolerances
* Carry out excavations by shovel, breaking up and removing old broken concrete asphalt to enable clearing of site for further work to be implemented
* Implement traffic control procedures around designated work area to facilitate the safety of the work site
* Understanding of and commitment to WHS and EEO principles and relevant legislation
* Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise with the public in high profile areas.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
CRITERIA:
* Car licence - mandatory
* MR or HR Licence (highly desirable)
