West Gippsland Healthcare Group is seeking enthusiastic and compassionate Allied Health Assistants to join our team. This role supports therapy services across our hospital, rehabilitation, community, and aged care settings.
In this diverse role, you’ll work closely with Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, and Dietitians to implement tailored therapy programs that support recovery and improve quality of life. You’ll assist with individual sessions, run group activities, visit clients at home, or help manage therapy equipment and resources. Your day-to-day will be varied and meaningful.
Responsibilities

Employment details
Permanent Part Time, Fixed Term Part Time (secondment backfill) or Casual Hours Available. Up to 112 hours per fortnight. Casuals are employed on an “as needs” basis to backfill leave and extra shifts on days, nights and weekends. Casual positions do not include regular hours. Flexible scheduling can be discussed to suit your lifestyle and commitments.
Health and Allied Services, Allied Health Assistant Grade 2 ($31.65 per hour).
(Junior rates apply to employees aged under 19 years)
Qualifications and experience
- Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent (previous experience in AHA services or similar is highly regarded).
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Well-developed organisational and time management skills.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office software.
Eligibility and requirements
Some roles in the healthcare sector may require annual influenza vaccination (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) may be required prior to commencement.
