As a close-knit and collaborative company, we are seeking an experienced and eager Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join our small team and provide crucial commercial support to our projects.
The Role
As our Quantity Surveyor / Estimator, you will be responsible for managing the costs and contracts relating to our street furniture projects.
Working collaboratively within our small team, you will blend traditional quantity surveying principles with detailed product-specific estimating to ensure our projects are quoted accurately and delivered profitably.
You will also be a key commercial point of contact for our customers, building strong professional relationships from the initial tender to project completion.
Key Responsibilities
Analyse architectural and landscape plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labour estimates.
Assess the costs of our manufactured furniture, breaking down material, fabrication, and finishing costs for standard and bespoke products.
Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates and comprehensive tender submissions.
Work closely and collaboratively with the sales, design, and production teams to ensure the cost-effectiveness and feasibility of designs.
Liaise directly with customers on commercial matters, clarifying project details and building strong, positive relationships.
Source pricing from suppliers and subcontractors for materials and services.
Assist in the negotiation of contracts and commercial terms.
Experience
Essential: Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Cost Estimator, or similar role within the landscaping industry.
Essential: Strong commercial understanding and hands-on experience with steel fabrication projects.
Essential: Exceptional computer skills, with high proficiency in the MS Office Suite (particularly Excel).
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong negotiation and communication abilities.
