Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel who will play a key role providing timely, strategic, commercially pragmatic legal advice across our business lines and functions.

This hybrid position offers the flexibility to work from home and can be based anywhere in Australia, while supporting a broad range of legal matters across a dynamic and fast-paced business environment.

This is a diverse and busy role and has a lawyer reporting to it, enabling the right person to create a dynamic team.

If you’ve worked in-house, have experience in providing advice on high value commercial contracts, have some experience in M&A and want to work with a great team, we’d like to meet you!!!

What we’re looking for from you:

* Take ownership for the timely, accurate, and effective delivery of legal services.
* Work collaboratively with the functions and operations to achieve commercial outcomes within the risk acceptance level set.
* Provide legal support and advice on all transactional and contractual issues across (including supply contracts, business/asset acquisitions and disposals, property).
* Handle claims and litigation (with external legal support if required).
* Advise on Data Privacy matters (with external legal support).
* Provide guidance of matters relating to M&A from DD to integration (with support from external)
* Set/review/update internal governance policies.
* Work within a multi-national where, at times, input into projects may be required.
* Develop others and share expertise and knowledge.
* Contribute to streamlining processes and activity through the adoption of existing and new technology.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

* Admission as a solicitor in Australia with eligibility for unrestricted practice.
* At least 10 years of experience in law firms and/or multinational companies.
* A minimum of 2 years’ experience working as in-house counsel.
* Broad experience in corporate law; experience in property and litigation will be highly regarded.
