RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your role as Floor Finisher is to be responsible for preparing, finishing and treating concrete floors using a range of mechanical, chemical and coating processes. This includes grinding, polishing, sealing and applying epoxy coatings in line with project specifications, safety standards, and client expectations.
DUTIES:
The position will require you to perform the following tasks;
* Prepare, treat, and finish concrete floors using mechanical polishing and coating methods.
* Grind, level, and patch concrete surfaces to achieve the required smoothness and evenness.
* Mix, apply and finish epoxy, polyurethane, and other resin-based coatings, ensuring correct preparation and curing times.
* Perform mechanical polishing using diamond tooling and planetary grinders to achieve the desired gloss and finish.
* Apply densifiers, sealers and protective coatings to improve surface durability and longevity.
* Conduct surface and moisture testing to ensure coatings bond effectively.
* Carry out repairs, resurfacing and re-coating of existing concrete floors as needed.
* Operate and maintain floor-finishing machinery and tools in safe working condition.
* Follow all health, safety and environmental procedures, including correct chemical handling.
* Read and interpret plans, job specifications and safety data sheets.
* Maintain a clean and organised worksite during and after each project.
* Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to meet project timelines and quality expectations.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
* Proficient in concrete grinding, polishing and epoxy coating application.
* Strong knowledge of surface preparation and finishing techniques.
* Ability to operate specialised equipment (grinders, polishers, dust extractors, etc.).
* Understanding of workplace safety practices and safe chemical handling.
* High attention to detail and quality workmanship.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* White Card (Construction induction) required
* Current drivers licence desirable
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year

* The role requires you to hold at least:
An AQF Certificate III (or equivalent) including at least two years of on-the-job training; or
An AQF (or equivalent) Certificate IV.
Alternatively, a minimum of three years of relevant work experience may substitute for the formal qualification listed above.
