We are looking for an experienced Mechanical [Product Design] Engineer to join Trike's design team in a permanent full-time role. ABOUT THE ROLE
Working in a dynamic design studio environment, you will be responsible for delivering client projects from the research phase, through conceptualisation to engineering development and then production. You are passionate about technical design, enthusiastic and innovative, with a drive for high-quality, on-time results.
Your role will include:
* Working in a team with the Project and Client Managers to set and meet project goals and timing
* Performing a technical lead role within projects
* Taking responsibility for successful delivery of projects stages
* Communicative sketching, concept development and performing client and internal presentations
* Applying engineering principles to solve design challenges
* Applying your understanding of materials and production processes
* DFM, risk analysis and management, maintaining BOMs, designing and performing test procedures, recording test documentation, managing certifications and outcomes.
* Sourcing - finding and communicating with suppliers, both in Australia and overseas
* Detailed 3D CAD modelling and creation of engineering drawings for prototype and production
Desired Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role you will have:
* 5-10 years experience in similar or relevant roles (consulting)
* Talented, degree qualified Engineer.
* A solid understanding of the product development process, delivering projects from concept to production
* Strong 3D CAD modelling skills (Solidworks)
* Great communication skills (sketch, written and verbal)
* Good time management with the ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
* An ability to autonomously work in and lead small teams, embracing a small team culture
