You're good at this. And you want a firm that actually reflects that.
Not a firm that buries you in admin, ignores your ideas, or expects you to check emails at 10pm because that's just how law works. You want complex, meaningful family law work, a team that has your back, and the flexibility to do your best work on your terms.
That's why we're hiring.
About Klarion Law Group
We're a forward-thinking family law firm with offices in Norwest (Sydney), Brisbane, and Melbourne — and clients across the Eastern Seaboard. We practice Family Law and Wills & Estates, and we do it differently.
We are digital-first. We speak plain English. We measure success by the outcomes our clients get, not the hours they pay for. We think technology should eliminate friction so lawyers can spend more time on what only humans can do — genuine empathy, strategic thinking, and clear advice at difficult moments.
Our vision is to build Australia's most accessible and efficient family law practice. We're growing fast, and we want the right people growing with us.
The role
This is a mid-senior position. You'll run your own complex family law matters — property, parenting, high-conflict — from commencement through to trial or settlement, with minimal hand-holding. Eventually, (if that's your thing), you'll also be a genuine leader for the more junior lawyers and paralegals in your team: mentoring, reviewing files, providing technical guidance, and helping them become better lawyers.
Day to day, you'll be:
* Managing a complex caseload of family law matters end-to-end with autonomy and confidence
* Providing strategic advice on property settlements and parenting arrangements, including running matters to hearing when required.
* Communicating with clients in plain English, proactively, and with genuine empathy — and making sure your team does the same
* Embracing our digital tools and processes, not working around them
* Contributing to a culture where excellence, efficiency, and having a life outside work all coexist
What we offer
* Full flexibility— work from home, from one of our offices, or a mix. We care about output, not where you're sitting
* Genuine autonomy— you're trusted as the expert; you won't be micromanaged
* A leadership platform— real mentoring responsibility and a voice in how the firm grows
* A values-led team— we mean it when we talk about growth mindset, integrity, and humanity. These aren't wall art
* A national client base— complex, diverse matters across the Eastern Seaboard
* Competitive remuneration— commensurate with your experience and track record.
* A bonus structure worth talking about— transparent, billable-based, and designed to genuinely reward strong performance. The better you do for clients, the better it is for you.
Who this is for
You have 3+ years post-admission experience in family law. You've run your own files and interim hearings. You've hit — or exceeded — your billing targets. You've probably already started mentoring others, even if it wasn't officially your job.
You believe that great client outcomes and a sustainable practice aren't in conflict. You communicate clearly and proactively. And you lean into technology rather than away from it.
You'll hold — or be entitled to hold — a current practising certificate in your state. Family Law accreditation is preferred but not essential if your experience is strong.
Full Australian work rights required at the time of application.
Who this is not for
This isn't the right role if you're still finding your feet in family law and need close supervision on day-to-day matters.
It's also not for those who see technology as an obstacle, or who prefer to work in a more traditional, hierarchical firm structure. We're building something different — and that takes people who are genuinely on board with a new way of doing things, not just tolerating it.
And if you're looking for a role where leadership means other people take care of the culture — this isn't it. We expect senior people to actively shape who we are.
We'd love to hear from you. Please send your resume and a cover letter addressing the role criteria — specifically your family law experience, your approach to client communication, and what flexible and digital working looks like for you in practice. Applications without a cover letter will not be considered.
* Recruiters: please do not contact us regarding this role. Direct applications only.
