* Location: Residential homes and the communities in and around the Kingston and Frankston municipalities
AccessCare's Community Support team, within the Aged and Disability department, plays a vital role in helping eligible residents remain living safely and independently in their own homes by addressing home and garden maintenance needs
About the role
We are seeking five additional Home Maintenance Officers to join the Community Support team to support residential homes and the communities in and around the Kingston and Frankston municipalities.
The successful applicant will have the ability to complete a broad range of property maintenance and repairs, garden maintenance, and identify potential risks within the home that may impact on a client's well-being.
You will also need to have a working knowledge of the range of home modifications that enhance functional independence, such as the design and placement of handrails.
Most importantly, you will have excellent communication skills, and accountable work ethics and a willingness to support older adults and people with a disability.
The home maintenance program is aligned with the Support at Home and Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP), and applicants are encouraged to become familiar with the principles of this program.
Other Responsibilities include:
* Undertaking home maintenance tasks in a timely and efficient manner ensuring clients receive a high-quality service
* Maintaining work records in accordance with current procedures, ensuring that all work is recorded and confirmed by clients prior to generation of an invoice
* Observing the behaviour and appearance of clients and their condition of their home and report any concerns to the Coordinator Community Support
* Monitoring the condition of the work vehicle, tools and protective equipment, actioning any maintenance requirements to ensure safety of self, public and client at all times
What You'll Bring:
* Relevant trade qualifications and/or experience in minor household repairs and modifications
* Current driver's licence
* Considerable experience in minor household repairs and modifications
* Experience working with older people and people with a disability (desirable)
* Confidence using mobile devices/software tools to manage daily work schedule/reporting
* Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
