Intelfuse is a geospatial data analytics company working with Power Utilities, Vegetation and Asset Inspectors, Arborists, and LiDAR specialists to develop advanced solutions for vegetation and asset management.
Our proprietary platform, datafuse3D, developed in collaboration with the University of Melbourne, enables power utilities to visualise and analyse Powerline Rights of Way in a fully interactive 3D environment.
The platform automatically processes LiDAR datasets and integrates multiple spatial data sources including asset records, pole locations, GIS shapefiles and imagery. Through advanced geospatial analytics, utilities can better understand vegetation growth, infrastructure exposure and wildfire risk across their networks.
About the Role
At Intelfuse, we're transforming how power utilities understand and manage vegetation risk, infrastructure exposure and wildfire threats using advanced LiDAR, 3D analytics and cloud-based geospatial technology.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking experienced Senior Geospatial Analysts to join our Melbourne team. These roles will play a key part in leading geospatial analytics projects, developing spatial data workflows and supporting the continued evolution of the datafuse3D platform.
You will work closely with founders, engineers, researchers and analysts to deliver advanced spatial intelligence solutions that support critical infrastructure management across Australia.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute to complex geospatial modelling, lead analytical workflows and mentor junior analysts within a fast-growing technology environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the processing and analysis of complex spatial datasets using GIS platforms and internal geospatial analytics tools
* Design and implement geospatial workflows for LiDAR processing, vegetation analysis and infrastructure modelling
* Conduct quality assurance and validation of spatial datasets to ensure analytical accuracy and data integrity
* Develop scripts and automation tools using Python and SQL to improve geospatial processing efficiency
* Produce high-quality analytical outputs including maps, spatial models and technical reports
* Collaborate with developers, data scientists and geospatial specialists to enhance the datafuse3D platform
* Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior analysts within the geospatial team
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal geospatial processes, standards and methodologies
Key Selection Criteria
Applicants should address the following selection criteria in their cover letter.
* Approximately 2–4 years' professional experience working in geospatial analysis, GIS or spatial data environments.
* Demonstrated experience using GIS platforms such as ArcGIS or QGIS to analyse, manage and visualise spatial datasets.
* Experience in geospatial analysis and spatial modelling, including interpreting spatial data and identifying patterns or anomalies.
* Experience developing Python scripts for geospatial data processing or automation.
* Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases, including querying and managing spatial datasets.
* Strong attention to detail and experience working with large spatial datasets and quality assurance processes.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary technical teams.
The following experience would be highly regarded but is not essential:
* Experience processing or analysing LiDAR datasets
* Experience using data visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau or ArcGIS Dashboards
* Exposure to cloud-based geospatial environments (AWS, Azure or similar)
* Knowledge of spatial databases such as PostGIS and spatial data formats including GeoJSON
* Experience working in Python-based or Linux environments for geospatial processing
Qualifications
* Degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Spatial Science, Geography, Environmental Science, Planning or a related discipline
Why Join Intelfuse
