Senior Insurance Broker – General Insurance/Risk Advisor (Portfolio Management)

$100,000 - $120,000 + Super + Performance Incentives

As the business continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Senior Insurance Broker to take ownership of an established client portfolio and play a key role in the next phase of Asset Alley Insurance.

The Role

This is a senior, autonomous position suited to an experienced broker who enjoys managing their own portfolio, providing high-quality advice, and acting as a trusted adviser to clients.

You will manage an existing portfolio of SME and commercial clients and be responsible for end-to-end general insurance advice, renewals, claims support, and compliance.

This is not a cold-calling or commission-only role. You will be stepping into a well-established book with full internal and insurer support.

Key Responsibilities

Portfolio & Client Management

* Take ownership of an allocated portfolio of SME and commercial clients
* Manage Monthly renewals end-to-end of which most are common-dated, including strategy, placement, negotiation, presentation, and binding
* Conduct annual risk reviews and provide proactive coverage recommendations
* Manage mid-term adjustments, endorsements, and policy enquiries
* Maintain strong client retention and long-term relationships

Insurance Advisory & Placement

* Provide advice across core General Insurance classes, including:

* Business Pack / ISR

* Public & Products Liability
* Professional Indemnity
* Management Liability
* Contract Works / Construction
* Motor Fleet, Plant & Equipment
* Cyber Insurance
* Liaise directly with insurers and underwriters to negotiate terms
* Identify underinsurance, contractual risks, and coverage gaps
* Deliver clear, compliant, and defensible advice to clients

Claims Management

* Act as the primary point of contact for claims lodgement and progression
* Support clients through the claims process and liaise with insurers and loss adjusters
* Assist in resolving complex or escalated claims matters

Compliance & Governance

* Ensure all advice and documentation meets AFSL and regulatory requirements
* Maintain accurate file notes, disclosures, and supporting documentation
* Adhere to ASIC, Corporations Act, Insurance Contracts Act, and internal compliance standards

Internal Contribution

* Provide guidance and support to junior team members where required
* Contribute to improving workflows, templates, and brokerage processes
* Assist in strengthening insurer relationships and portfolio strategy

About You

Essential

* 5+ years' experience in General Insurance broking
* Strong experience managing SME and commercial client portfolios
* Sound technical knowledge of Australian GI products and policy wordings
* Experience dealing directly with underwriters and claims teams
* RG146 Tier 1 compliant as a minimum qualification
* Strong communication, Attention to detail, documentation, and organisational skills

Desirable

* Experience managing portfolios between $500k – $1.5m GWP
* Exposure to construction, trades, property, or complex SME risks
* Experience in an independent or growing brokerage environment
