FULL-TIME FARM HANDS – SENIOR OPERATOR ROLES (2 POSITIONS ON OFFER)

Skylane Farms is a well-established, privately operated agricultural business located in the coastal Tumby Bay region on the Eyre Peninsula. We are seeking two capable, experienced full-time farm hands to take on hands-on operational roles across our cropping and livestock enterprise.
These positions suit reliable, self-motivated operators who are comfortable with the realities of farming, can work independently, and take pride in doing the job properly.
Key Responsibilities
Livestock & Stock Operations
* Livestock handling, stock control, feeding and general animal husbandry
* Yard work, drafting and stock movements
* Monitoring animal health and maintaining livestock infrastructure
Cropping & Machinery Operations
* Seeding, spraying, spreading and harvest duties
* Confident operation of tractors, headers, spreaders and associated equipment
* Accurate machinery setup and safe operation including confident use and troubleshooting of modern GPS guidance systems
Mechanical & Maintenance
* Daily machinery checks, servicing and preventative maintenance
* Identifying faults and carrying out basic mechanical repairs
* Minor repairs and servicing capability including troubleshooting equipment issues and performing routine maintenance tasks is required
* General property maintenance including fencing, sheds and infrastructure
General Farm Operations
* Working efficiently and safely in all weather conditions
* Managing tasks independently and contributing to a small team
* Adapting to seasonal workloads and operational priorities
Skills & Attributes Required
This is not an entry-level role. Applicants must demonstrate:
* Proven experience in broadacre farming and/or livestock operations
* A minimum of 5-10 years of demonstrated broadacre farming and/or livestock operations experience is essential
* Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills
* High level of initiative, reliability and accountability
* Honest, trustworthy driven by initiative and respectful attitude toward people and equipment
* Strong work ethic with a long-term mindset
* Ability to work unsupervised and follow direction when required
* Australian work rights are required for this position
MC or HC licence is highly regarded and considered a strong advantage.
A current driver's licence is essential.
