The RSPCA is Australia's pre-eminent animal welfare organisation with an exceptional history of delivering positive outcomes for animals. RSPCA Northern Territory (RSPCA NT) is a locally incorporated and operated charity that is a member of RSPCA Australia.
RSPCA NT operates a veterinary clinic and animal shelter supported by our staff, foster carers and volunteers, enabling us to care for, medically treat and rehome up to 1000 animals a year.
The RSPCA NT also provides a strong voice for all animals, using strong scientific evidence to inform and advocate for long-term improvements to animal welfare.
The role
We are seeking a visionary, purpose-driven Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead us forward. This is an opportunity to shape the future of one of the NT’s most loved and respected charities.
You will need a proven track record of leading a multifaceted not-for-profit organisation, with experience of driving success in a challenging financial climate. You will know how to inspire, align and energise teams and stakeholders. You will bring commercial acumen, strategic clarity, and the ability to secure resources and forge powerful sponsorships. Animal welfare experience is well-regarded but not essential. What is essential is a deep belief in and commitment to our purpose and the skills to get us there.
You will be employed on a full-time basis and report to the Board of Directors of the RSPCA NT.
You will
* Strategically lead and manage the RSPCA NT business, including animal welfare, shelter, foster carers, volunteers, veterinary clinic and retail functions to achieve positive outcomes for animals of the NT.
* Work closely with the Board of Directors, assisting in the development of strategic and operational plans, and driving the implementation of these.
* Manage day-to-day operations across the shelter and veterinary clinic functions.
* Lead and develop staff, volunteers, foster carer management, including recruitment, ongoing support, training, and development.
* Ensure robust financial management practices and budget management and identify and progress new opportunities for income generation and sponsorship.
* Maintain a high level of understanding of, and compliance with legislative requirements e.g. workplace health and safety, animal welfare and business governance.
* Collaborate with RSPCA Australia, interstate Member Societies and other stakeholders.
* Develop a safe, inclusive, values-driven culture, where continuous improvement is the norm and there is support for change initiatives.
Your experience
* Proven leadership experience overseeing multi-disciplinary operations or service delivery environments
* Proven experience leading, developing, and managing high-performing teams through change and complexity.
* Demonstrated success in setting and delivering organisational strategy, including driving performance, growth, or transformation.
* Strong financial management experience, including budgeting, forecasting, revenue diversification, and operating with a \"mission-driven\" focus on commercial reality.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a Board or governing body, including reporting, governance, and strategic alignment.
* Strong track record in stakeholder engagement, including building partnerships with external organisations, funders, or government.
