Complete Staff Solutions are recruiting for a Training and Assessment specialist (APS6 equivalent) to lead a Training Needs Analysis (TNA) for the Health, Safety and Wellbeing team within the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (often called the NDIS Commission) is the independent regulator of the National Disability Insurance Scheme in Australia. Its job is to make sure people with disability are safe and receive quality supports and services.
Overview
Start Date: 18th May 2026
End Date: 30th June 2026 with potential for extension
Hours/Days: 37.5hrs per week, Monday - Friday
Casual Hourly Rate: APS6 Equivalent - $64.00 - $71.00 + Super
Location: Canberra, ACT (Flexible working arrangements available)
As a Trainer/Assessor you will:
* Develop a Training Needs Assessment template (has not been done here before)
* Work with the Safety Risk Strategy Team to facilitate data gathering and analysis required, this will be primarily informed by psychosocial risk assessments across Divisions, which will advise on mandatory WHS capability needs across teams e.g. capabilities consistent with accidental counsellor, mental health first aid, remote driving, risk management
* Identify WHS capability gaps across employee and leadership cohorts when assessing existing capability programs, and outline in TNA
* Develop a Training Plan including clear objectives, delivery methods and success/performance metrics. The development of the Training Plan would also include identifying training providers, scheduling requirements and a plan for implementation and evaluation phases.
* Work autonomously, with NDIS Commission Health, Safety and Wellbeing team and the NDIS Commission Learning Team.
* Engage stakeholders effectively and build strong working relationships quickly
Mandatory Experience & Requirements
* Training and Assessment Officer must have experience delivering a TNA and provide a referee to confirm this
* Must be an Australia Citizen, with current minimum Baseline Security Clearance or ability to quickly obtain
