As a Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow at the Disability and Health Unit, you'll contribute to groundbreaking research aimed at improving the health of people with disabilities. Your responsibilities will include: Lead Quantitative Research: Design and conduct analyses using large, complex datasets like PLIDA and HILDA to address key research questions. Produce High-Quality Publications: Author peer-reviewed papers, reports, and policy briefs to disseminate research findings. Secure Research Funding: Lead and contribute to writing competitive grant proposals and funding applications. Mentor and Supervise: Guide Honours, Masters, and PhD students, as well as early career researchers. Collaborate and Communicate: Work with multidisciplinary teams and present findings to diverse stakeholders. You may be a great fit if:
You are a skilled quantitative social scientist with a PhD in a relevant field, demonstrating advanced analytical abilities, a strong publication record, and a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for people with disabilities through inclusive, collaborative research.
You may also: Possess advanced skills in statistical analysis and software (e.g., Stata or R). Have experience with causally focused epidemiological or econometric methods. Demonstrate a track record of attracting research funding. Show commitment to disability-inclusive research practices. Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Possess experience or capacity to supervise postgraduate students. Have lived experience as a person with a disability (desirable). Understand Australian disability policy (desirable).
