Based at Queensland Children's Hospital, as the **Clinical Food Services Manager**, you will be responsible for the direction and leadership of the onsite catering team. Catering to the needs of a vulnerable client base, you will need to be an organised, agile and an experienced leader.
You will be responsible for ensuring that all food production, food safety and logistics are performed with due regard for all Health and Safety and Food Safety regulations and in line with contractual requirements of the site.
Alongside this, your responsibilities will include;
- Control of the department's budgets, manage inventory and monitor the ordering of stock
- Maintain focus on quality service and innovation
- The ability to be innovative with your food offerings for a vulnerable sector of society
- Lead and manage food production, menu compliance and delivery logistics
- Ensure workflow risks (patient and food safety) are identified, known, understood and mitigated
- Manage specialised dietary needs in a healthcare environment
- Consult with client representatives and Dietitians to ensure quality control and catering requirements are met.
- Explore innovative solutions to evolving dietary needs
- Ensure smooth and efficient workflow
- Ensure facilities are clean and hygienic
- Ensure staff comply with food safety procedures
- Develop menus in accordance with QLD Health Food guidelines and Compass Group and client requirements
- Implement and manage an effective waste management and reduction strategy.
- Maintain accurate financial data including invoicing and departmental P&L;
**The Person**
- Dietetics or Commercial Cookery qualification
- A deep understanding of dietary restrictions, special and modified diets to ensure optimal patient food requirements are met within guidelines of diet order limitations
- Proven experience in Hospitality Management
- Experience in large scale catering and kitchen operations
- Good working knowledge of accounting and budgeting
- Clear National Police Clearance
- Current flu and COVID-19 vaccinations
- Excellent communication skills
- Sound computer skills
- Experience in workplace health and safety issue management
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive outlook and professional manner
- Flexible approach and attitude
