Business Development Manager - Technical sales and market development
We are supporting a global industrial solutions provider to appoint a Business Development Manager responsible for driving growth across South Australia, Victoria, and Tasmania. This role suits a commercially disciplined sales professional who values long term customer relationships and takes ownership of a defined territory.
The mandate is clear. Strengthen existing accounts, build a credible pipeline of new business, and increase market share across packaging, labelling, FMCG, and regulated industries. Success in the first 12 to 24 months will be measured through consistent sales growth, deeper customer engagement, and increased product specification with converters, designers, and brand owners.
You will balance account management with proactive business development. That includes researching and opening new opportunities, spending time on customer sites, and positioning technical solutions that solve real production and compliance challenges. You will also work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure forecasting, reporting, and customer support remain disciplined and commercially focused.
Key aspects of the role include:
* Managing and growing key customer accounts through consultative selling
* Identifying and converting new opportunities across multiple market segments
* Presenting proposals, negotiating commercial terms, and closing agreements
* Educating customers on technical products and applications
* Working with designers and brand owners to influence specification decisions
* Maintaining accurate CRM reporting, forecasts, and budgets
This role will suit someone who brings:
* Five or more years' experience in B2B business development or technical sales
* Exposure to packaging, print, industrial, FMCG, or similar sectors
* Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
* The ability to work autonomously across a multi state territory
* A structured and accountable approach to sales delivery
Based in Adelaide, the role includes regular travel to Victoria and Tasmania and occasional broader travel as required.
It offers autonomy, defined territory ownership, and access to global technical capability without corporate noise.
