Working Days: Monday – Saturday, between 7:00am – 5:00pm
We are looking for a reliable and capable Yards Person to support the day-to-day running of our busy yard and workshop.
This is a hands‐on role focused primarily on forklift work, moving buildings, materials, deliveries, and stock safely and efficiently across our site.
It's ideal for someone who enjoys practical outdoor work, takes pride in organisation, and understands the importance of keeping a working yard tidy, safe, and prepared for daily deliveries.
Key Responsibilities
* Operating a forklift to move timber buildings, crates, and materials around the yard
* Preparing buildings from storage for daily deliveries
* Receiving deliveries and putting stock away correctly
* Supporting delivery teams with loading and yard preparation
* Keeping timber stores, barns, and storage areas organised
* General tidying and upkeep of yard and workshop spaces
* Basic workshop support (sweeping, bins, keeping walkways clear)
(All applicants must have)
* Forklift licence and/or experience (Large Agricultural Manitou)
* Confident working in a fast-moving outdoor yard environment
* Reliable, punctual, and physically capable
* Strong awareness of safety and good site conduct
* Willingness to get involved and support the wider team
* Experience in a construction yard, workshop, farming, or timber environment
* Interest in learning further practical skills within the business
Further forklift or site training can be provided for the right person.
