The job in a nutshell

Bring your creative flair, willingness to learn and hard work to our little hotel in Thornleigh We are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to support our Head Chef with covering both breakfast and dinner shifts.

What you will be doing:

* To assist the kitchen team in ensuring that all kitchen areas are kept clean and tidy at all times.
* To utilise food-handling techniques which are in line with current Health and Hygiene regulations
* This position involves food preparation and presentation with flair for breakfast, lunch and dinner for A la Carte, room service.
* Maintain a clean and hygienic work environment whilst ensuring a product of high quality and presentation standards.
* Demonstrate commitment to customer service for internal and external customers.

What you will be doing Day to day?

* Building and mentoring a team.
* Daily food preparation for breakfast, lunch and dinner and bistro dining.
* Food ordering partnered with cost management.
* Upkeep of hygiene and cleanliness standards.
* Building rapport with customers.
* Continue to learn and drive your development

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

* Certificate III in Commercial Cookery qualified preferred
* Excellent attention to detail
* Excellent knowledge and practice of food hygiene standards
* Flexible availability to work a range of shifts and days.
* Ability to effectively time manage large volume workload, to meet deadlines and work well under pressure situations.
* A flexible and resilient approach to challenges
* Ability to work independently.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour
