The Role
We're looking for an experienced and safety-focused Supervisor to lead our Rockhampton team in delivering high-quality construction projects. This role is key to ensuring work is completed efficiently, safely, and in line with project plans and company standards. As a vital link between crews, project managers, clients, and other stakeholders, you'll need strong leadership skills, a solid background in construction, and the confidence to make decisions on the go. Responsibilities and Duties
* Implementing the Construction Project Management Plan and associated procedures.
* Conducting site-specific induction.
* Ensuring all personnel are competent to perform their roles including having the necessary work tickets.
* Managing workplace injury, illness, and emergency management processes in line with company procedures.
* Consulting with the Project Manager (as necessary) if hazards are identified which have not been planned for.
* Coordinating with other parties regarding works on site, if needed.
* Planning and overseeing traffic and plant movements.
* Conducting or participating in incident investigations.
* Ensuring SWMS are followed and amending SWMS in consultation with site personnel as required.
* Conducting toolbox talks when there are changes that alters the risk and hazards at the work site.
* Ensuring all plant and equipment is maintained and operated in accordance with established codes of practice.
* Ensuring the proper implementation of project specific and company-wide environmental management procedures and adjusting site implementation as required to ensure ongoing adequacy.
* Ensuring quality and workmanship is in line with project and industry standards or better.
* Assisting in coordinating, ensuring, and receiving, in-process and final (or acceptance) inspection and testing.
* Developing productive sequences of work, allocating resources accordingly and monitoring and driving production efficiency.
* Monitoring works progress to project budget and schedule. Assisting the PM in adjusting plans as required to meet project objectives.
* Ensuring the keeping accurate site records.
* Approving work crew timesheets & expenses.
* Monitoring and reporting progress in line with agreed project reporting lines and frequencies.
Skills and Experience
* Minimum 4 years’ experience in civil construction
* Construction Industry Induction (White Card).
* Rail Industry Workers Card.
* Current driver’s license.
* Cert 3 in Civil Construction
Desirable Skills:
* Railway experience
* Common civil plant operator tickets (Excavator, Loader, Skid Steer, Roller etc)
* Trade qualification
* Supervisor training
