Job Overview
As a storeperson, you will play a crucial role in managing inventory effectively and delivering outstanding customer service.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement purchasing and marketing strategies to optimize product pricing.
* Inspect incoming goods for damage or discrepancies with invoices.
* Unload vehicles, open packages, and remove contents.
* Use computer systems to check stock location and quantity.
* Pack, weigh, and seal goods in boxes.
* Operate machinery to lift, place, and retrieve goods stored at height.
* Utilize specialized equipment such as order pickers and check items off picking lists.
* Assist with regular stocktakes.
* Use materials handling gear like hydraulic pallet lifters and hand trucks as needed.
* Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
* Ability to lift and move goods with the aid of machines and equipment.
* Oversee store accounts to ensure accurate financial transactions in compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Report faulty equipment to the store manager.
Requirements:
* AQF Certificate II or III, or at least one year of relevant experience (ANZSCO Skill Level 4).
* Minimum 1 year of experience as a storeperson or in a similar role.
* Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining focus on safety and productivity.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Strong understanding of workplace health and safety protocols, including hazard identification and risk management.
* Excellent communication skills for reporting, coordination, and collaboration.
