Job Description Summary

Job Description

Workplace Manager – Central Manchester

Site-Based | Monday–Friday | Premier Grade A Commercial Office | 100,000 sq. ft | Fully Occupied

We're looking for a highly engaging, front-facing Workplace Manager to be the heartbeat of a flagship, 100k sq. ft multi-tenanted Grade A office building in central Manchester. This is a fast-paced, fully occupied site with major blue-chip occupiers and a busy daily events and visitor flow.

You'll be the go-to person for occupiers, visible, proactive, solution-driven, ensuring the building runs flawlessly and the customer experience stays best-in-class. Supported by an on-site Customer Experience Manager, you will oversee H&S, compliance, hard and soft FM suppliers, and day-to-day building operations.

You'll lead standards, relationships and contractor performance on site.

This is a high-growth client with a rapidly expanding Northwest portfolio, offering clear progression routes for the right person.

What You'll Do

Front-Facing Building & Occupier Leadership

* Be the primary face of the building — visible, approachable, proactive with all occupiers.

* Build strong relationships with blue-chip occupiers, understanding their needs and resolving issues before they escalate.

* Drive a hospitality-led culture: exceptional service, warm interactions, and consistent presence.

Operational & Compliance Management

* Oversee all hard and soft FM activities (M&E, fabric, security, cleaning, waste, grounds).

* Ensure full statutory compliance, H&S oversight, and accurate risk management reporting.

* Complete regular building inspections, follow up actions, and escalate issues as needed.

* Manage contractors on site, checking quality, behaviours, and adherence to SLA/KPIs.

Customer Experience & Community Building

* Work with the onsite Customer Experience Manager to deliver events, activations, and engagement initiatives.

* Enhance tenant satisfaction through service improvements, responsiveness and building community.

* Champion ESG, wellbeing and sustainability standards across the building.

Service Delivery & Performance

* Support service charge management, budgeting insight, and financial reporting.

* Oversee CAFM usage, work orders, and reactive maintenance performance.

* Handle complaints quickly with a solutions mindset and strong communication.

* Ensure business continuity plans and emergency procedures remain current and well-practised.

What You'll Bring

* Experience as a Workplace Manager, Building Manager or Assistant Building Manager in a high-performing commercial office environment.

* Strong communication and people skills, comfortable with high levels of daily occupier interaction.

* Confidence overseeing FM suppliers, compliance, H&S and building operations.

* A customer-obsessed mindset, you enjoy being front-of-house and creating great tenant experiences.

* Proactive, organised, calm under pressure, with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Nice to Have

* IWFM Level 4 (or working toward)

* IOSH Managing Safely

* Experience in Grade A office or multi-tenanted corporate environments
