Court Liaison Officer (CNC2, OT4, SW4, Clinical Psychologist) – Grafton and Maclean Local Court, Justice Health - PFT

Employment Type: Permanent Full Time

Position Classification: Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 2, Clinical Psychologist, Occupational Therapist Level 4, Social Worker Level 4

Remuneration: $131,870.90 – $134,500.70 p.a. plus superannuation

Hours Per Week: 38

Location: Grafton and Maclean Local Court, NSW

Role Purpose

To assist the Local Court Magistrate with the diversion of defendants who have or are suspected of having a mental illness, mental disorder or cognitive impairment from the Criminal Justice System into the community.

Essential Criteria

- Must hold a relevant post graduate qualification in mental health.
- Must hold a current NSW Driver’s Licence.

Qualifications by Skilled Stream

- Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 2 : Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia; current full registration with AHPRA; five years full-time equivalent post-registration clinical experience, including at least 3 years in an acute mental health setting.
- Occupational Therapist Level 4 : Qualifications registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia; general registration with the Board; five years post-registration clinical experience, including at least 3 years in an acute mental health setting.
- Social Worker Level 4 : Bachelor’s degree in social work with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (or equivalent); five years post-registration clinical experience, including at least 3 years in an acute mental health setting.
- Clinical Psychologist : Four-year degree in psychology (or three-year degree with honours) or equivalent; general registration with AHPRA; five years post-registration clinical experience, including at least 3 years in an acute mental health setting.

Our Service and Team

Statewide Community and Court Liaison Service (SCCLS) delivered by Justice Health NSW offers mental health support in Local Courts across NSW. The service conducts evaluations and, where suitable, suggests diversion from custody into treatment options. The SCCLS is expanding to 58 local courts in rural, regional and metro locations.
