* Fixed Term, Part-Time (56 hours per fortnight)
* Salary Classification: Admin Officer, Level 3, Year 1-2.
* Remuneration: $34.46-$35.54 per hour + superannuation + annual leave loading + salary packaging options.


About The Role

An exciting opportunity is available for an enthusiastic, motivated individual with high attention to detail to join our friendly Clinical Information department team on a part-time basis. The role is responsible for the collection, preparation, scanning, and quality checking of patient health information to ensure it is readily accessible to clinical staff for effective treatment, care, and decision-making.

The Administration Officer plays a vital role in maintaining the integrity of medical records and liaising with internal and external departments. The role requires learning and working with multiple electronic systems and medical record formats while maintaining strict patient privacy and confidentiality. Staff are expected to rotate across different positions and become skilled in multiple areas. The role offers opportunities to upskill and advance as NSW health transitions into the Single Digital Patient Record (SDPR).


Key Responsibilities

* Assist in providing comprehensive administrative and records management support services.
* Ensure documentation from recent episodes of care is available and prepped in a timely manner to support digitized medical record scanning.
* Operate scanning equipment to convert paper documents into digital images accurately and promptly.
* Conduct quality control checks on documents to ensure completeness and high quality of scanned records.
* Manage records, including retrieving, filing, tracking, and maintaining paper-based medical records.
* Ensure accurate and timely data entry into the i.PM Patient Administration system.

About You

* Experience working in a Medical Record Department or hospital administrative role maintaining patient records in paper and electronic formats.
* Attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Excellent time management and organizational skills to handle high workloads and meet deadlines.
* Computer literacy, including patient administration systems and Microsoft Office.
* Knowledge of privacy, confidentiality, and information security in a hospital setting.
* Knowledge of medical terminology and willingness to develop skills.
* Effective communication skills and professional telephone manner.
* Flexibility and openness to changing processes and procedures.
