The Opportunity
We are seeking a Recreational Activities Officer to join our team at Bracken House Hostel in the Western Region. This permanent part-time opportunity requires weekend work availability. As a Recreational Activities Officer, you will make a significant difference in our residents' lives by facilitating positive health and wellbeing options for individuals, their families, and carers.
You will drive resident engagement and participation in social, recreational, and cultural activities. You will also lead mental health and wellbeing programs that empower residents' choices and independence.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, organise, and lead activities that meet social and recreational needs while promoting independence and quality of life.
* Assess and document program effectiveness by tracking residents' progress and making necessary adjustments.
* Maintain a minimum Certificate IV in Leisure and Lifestyle qualification.
* Prior experience within an aged care setting is essential.
* Develop high-level organisation and time management skills.
* Solve problems independently.
* Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Demonstrate an understanding of Resident Rights, Aged Care Accreditation Standards, and Outcomes.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, internet/intranet skills, and email communication is required.
* Knowledge of Work Health and Safety principles is also expected.
