Associate Nurse Unit Manager

Your New Role

We are seeking a motivated and experienced nurse leader to join our Ward 4 South leadership team at The Royal Melbourne Hospital City Campus. This is an exciting opportunity to utilise your specialised skills in a high-acuity environment, working alongside an expert multidisciplinary team.

You will demonstrate expert clinical knowledge and skills whilst assuming a prominent management focus, supporting the Nurse Unit Manager in coordinating daily clinical operations, leading staff, supporting professional development, and ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, and patient-centred care.

In This Role, You Will

* Ensure the provision of high-quality patient care. This includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care in collaboration with the 4 South Multidisciplinary Team.
* Strengthen your understanding of access and flow; timely discharge planning, and coordinate timely admissions from Theatre, ICU and the Emergency Department.
* Uphold The Melbourne Way core values and standards of practice.
* Communicate effectively with 4 South key stakeholders; Surgical Services Leadership, Digital Coordination Centre (DCC), Theatre, the Emergency Department and Surgical and Medical Units.

About You

* At least 12 months ANUM experience.
* Minimum 4 years acute surgical nursing experience.
* Developed assessment, clinical reasoning, problem solving and prioritisation skills.
* You have excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
* High motivation and willingness to learn.
* High level of reliability and professional conduct.
